Meet The Rhema FM Live Team
Henk Bruins - Chairman
Married to my lovely wife Clair for 33 years and father of 4 (3 daughters and a son). I have been attending AOG Church in Mount Gambier as a family for past 18 years. I have been Chairman of Rhema FM for the past 12 years since its inception in 1993. In December of 2004 I retired from Chartered accountancy after some 40 years in the accountancy profession, and nowadays spend my time as a property developer and over-sighting the operations of Rhema Fm and other business interests.
Why do I work at Rhema:I am passionate about RhemaFM fulfilling the vision that God gave us some 12 years ago, to bring Christian radio to the South East of South Australia and to parts of South Western Victoria. At the personal level I have a keen interest to see people find and achieve their God-given purpose for their lives and I enjoy working with people to establish and encourage them particularly in relation to financial matters and wealth creation.
Hobbies:My Hobbies include trail bike riding with my son and friends, and spending time with my family. I also have a passion to share the gospel message with people, and together with a like-minded group my wife are ivolved with Mount Gambier Healing Rooms
My idea of pure Indulgence:Lets just simply say that recently a new road bike has been added to the list of boys toys!
What I do on days off:For relaxation my wife and I enjoy a weekend away at the beach, or a few days of leisurely shopping in the city.
Alaister Armstrong - Treasurer, Announcer
I am a very happily married man. My Wife Pauline is my muse, my greatest fan and critic (which is good) - she keeps me on the straight and Narrow. I'm Dad to 5 girls from 28-16! And Grandad to 3 kids 8yrs - 8months.
My early morning fun job is keep get you through your breakfast routine with some humour, some good music and loads of mostly helpful( if not at least entertaining) information - and to work in time, wearing the right gear for the weather of the day.
My day job is getting the residents of Lambert Village Supported Accommodation thru their day. I am the Manager there where we are currently facing many challenges but God is carrying us through.
Why do I work at Rhema: I asked God if I could do more for him and Rhema jumped up and grabbed hold of me. I love listening to all the good music and it gives me a different focus to my work. I love the idea of sowing seeds and that is essentially what we do - make people think about God and their own lives and families.
Hobbies: Walking on the beach, renovating houses, and hanging out with my wife and family.
My idea of pure Indulgence: Overnighting at a bed and breakfast with a spa and a bottle of red wine -and my wife of course!
What I do on days off: Hide!!! Go down the beach - we have a caravan down in Beachport for the summer. So that is good.
Wayne Kerber - Vice Chairman

A pastor serving God in the Lutheran Church in Mt. Gambier. Previously served in Brisbane, Qld for 5 + years. Was a trainer/educator for 8 years prior & linesman for ETSA prior to that for some 16 years.
Why do I work at Rhema: Because I reckon it’s a great way for the churches to work together in partnership with Rhema to reach people in the South East with the Gospel & if I can volunteer some of my personal time to contribute in some small way to reach this goal, that can only be a + to help people know about Jesus.
Hobbies: Spending quality time with my wife, with family & friends, golf, fishing, gardening.
My idea of pure indulgence: sitting down to a feed of crayfish & enjoying a good glass of wine.

Deanne Turner: 104.9 Music Director
Why Did I Volunteer At Rhema?
1. Firstly, I came into the OnTrack Bookshop to do some hours of voluntary work in 2005 to gain some experience in customer service and retail. What I found was a group of loving, caring, godly friends and I have stayed on.
2. During this time I have developed my skills in the retail area but have also had the opportunity the grow in other areas, including keeping up to date with the new artists and their music, through internet and radio resources. This has also included downloading information and music and incorporating this into the Rhema programming. I have also had the opportunity of interviewing new and upcoming artists locally and interstate. It really is very interesting working in radio.
3. Now I have progressed into the announcer's seat and music director. God is so awesome.
Why Rhema?
Because I love the fact that God has given this community a Christian radio station and I would like to be a part of this outreach. Plus I just love music.
About Me: I am a single mum with two teenage children. I attend the local AOG Church. I am involved with the music ministry at the Church.
Hobbies: include playing my guitar, going to the movies, enjoying the outdoors (especially with my children)
My idea of pure indulgence: I love to go for coffees with friends and chat, I like playing my Playstation and annoying the kids!!!!!! (not really)
My show : Is called 'Morning Mix-Up' with Dee. You can tune in from 8.00 am - 10.00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays to listen to the 'mix-up'. It consists of contemporary and modern tracks with the occasional (definitely NOT country!!!) classic. Just joking. It also includes snippets of funny and light-hearted stories along with local events. There are occasional guests that join me and whatever else I might include in the 'mix-up'.
If you would like to make a request or have any ideas or comments for the show please contact me at the station by emailing music@rhemafmlive.com.au
