WINDOW ON THE WORLD:

THE PROGRAM VISION IS TO BE:

                 DECLARING HIS WORKS

CREATING A PASSION FOR CHRIST & THOSE HE LOVES

                 AND SO BUILDING HIS KINGDOM

The Program mission is

  • To preach Christ Crucified and take the gospel into the lives of Australians around the country by declaring his works from one generation to the next
  • to challenge the Australian church to understand the great commission and to be a catalyst to move them to do their part
  • to see the body of Christ in Australia develop a Kingdom mentality and awareness, being concerned and alert to what is happening across the world in both the negative and positive aspects of Christianity – and within this to declare the works of God
  • to make missions real and down-to-earth – a calling for all Christ followers
  • to advocate for the release children from spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional poverty in Jesus’ name
  • to grow support for various world mission works – specifically – Compassion Australia, Voice of the Martyrs, Bible society, Opens Doors, World Missions and various Christian Media ie TWR, CVC, FECB, etc

One day we are all going to stand before the Lord and He will ask us what we did for the hungry, oppressed, neglected, exploited and hurting people and children of our world, both in our own neighbourhood and across the world to the ends of the earth.

This programme is designed to highlight the needs of those God’s loves across the world and the ways people are helping, can help and should pray. Its designed to take listeners on a journey to other lands, let them take a few steps in other shoes and hear the stories of ordinary individuals who are answering the same great commission that God has given to them, and through the weeks to impart a spirit for and desire to be Kingdom Builders in our own neighbourhoods and reaching across the miles to stand with others for his name sake.

The ministry of this radio program will be:

- a call to recover the church's missionary mandate

-a prophetic cry to our brothers and sisters in Christ on behalf of the lost millions in the Third World, the 10/40 window and persecuted nations of the world.

- a call for believers to change their lifestyles and conform to the demands of the Gospel here in Australia and to the poor and lost nations of the world

- a message from God that could bring a change in lifestyle and vision to Christ followers so we can reach those in our own nation, city, neighbourhood.

- Creating a passion for the lost: Getting listeners to imagine the implications of being involved in the work of the Great Commission, of getting their church and family to join with them in reaching their neighbours and also supporting native missions
- to remind people that we, in Australia, are, for the most part, People of great privilege--a nation able, more affluent and more free to act on the Great Commission than almost any other.

Amazingly many of our audience do not seem to comprehend this...so the program would be putting forward  two very important questions that every Christian needs to ask himself:

*What is your part in building the Kingdom of God and in this context why do you think God has allowed you to be born in Australia rather than among the poor masses of Africa and Asia, and to be blessed with such material and spiritual abundance?
*In light of all that God has done for you in Christ and the super-abundance you enjoy here in Australia, what do you think is your response to His great commission should be and what is your minimal responsibility to the untold millions of lost and suffering of the unreached people groups and those suffering in the
Third World?

A BACKGROUND TO THIS MISSION:

God is a God of purpose and we all have a purpose in His kingdom Plan – our heart message as a couple in coming to Australia from Zimbabwe to serve him in this nation is to preach the gospel of Jesus and Him crucified for all. To stir people to know and love Jesus, to love and care about those he loves and cares for and to know His plans and purposes for them and for his world, and to see them walk in His love and in His  purpose and destiny for them.

FROM GREG LAURIE’S BOOK – What is evangelism:

So what is the gospel? A good summation is given to us by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15, where he says in verse 1, "Now brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you have received and which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved." Here it is. "That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." There it is. Imbed that deeply in your mind. The gospel in a nutshell is "Christ died for our sins and was buried and raised on the third day."

That's the cornerstone. Someone once asked the great British preacher C.H. Spurgeon if he could put in a few words his Christian faith. He said, "Yes, I can give it to you in four words, Jesus died for me." And that's what it comes down to. And remind that person you're speaking to, "Jesus died for them. He shed his blood for them." The apostle Paul was a brilliant person. He was known for his great skills of oratory. He was known for his grasp of culture and languages. And if anybody could have intellectually convinced a person of the validity of something it was certainly the apostle Paul, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus. But yet here is what Paul said when it came to preaching the gospel. He said--1 Corinthians 2:1--"When I came to you brothers I didn't come with eloquence or superior wisdom, as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing else among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." Then Paul also said--1 Corinthians 1:17, "God did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of human words, lest the cross be deprived of its power."

It's a simple, powerful yet profound message that can change lives, that changed our lives and its the longing of our heart to see it change others. We Christians can actually hinder the message of the gospel by complicating so  in this program we want to keep the message simple and let it be effective in its own powerful way.
