Rhema FM Live - Big Al on Breakfast
Cereal, toast, tea and Big Al on rhemaFMlive, is now a morning ritual in our house and in many other people's too. Kicking us off with a
dynamic nugget from God's word which is punchy and provoking he certainly is a "Good morning" pick me up.
Apart from the occasional technical hitch and slip of the tongue Big Al has taken to the breakfast show like a duck to water. Gliding through a myriad of artists and songs, a flurry of community and church announcements and all kinds of other stories, reviews and information his show is like a delicious bowl of assorted chocolates.
A feature of his show are the excerpts from the Aussie Bible by Kel Richards. This translation of our beloved book is not really a translation of the bible but more like a re-telling of what it would be like if the whole story had happened here, and been written down in the aussie sort of style. Our goal in sharing this on air is to allow people to see the events as real and as happening to people in a real place, not so very different from our people and our place. We particularly hope that someone listening might be touched by the truth of the word and see Jesus in a new light and learn to trust him themselves.
Al brings us a great mix of controversial and stimulating stories and issues for thought as well as some light hearted stories and jokes, all designed to make morning routines a little less predictable and a little more intriguing. If you have any comments or community or church announcements for Breakie with Al.
If you like Al's jokes and stories some of the books he draws them from are a series of books compiled by J. John and Mark Stibble and available in OnTrack books. A great resource for pastors and teachers.
Our listeners are also enjoying Al's giveaways and people of all ages have won CD's , devotionals, books, posters and gifts from Rhema and Ontrack.
Keep listening on Tuesdays. Wednesdays and Thursdays and you could also be a winner.
