At SECB we are almost totally volunteer based with all of our board serving on a volunteer basis, sacrifice family time, and sometimes income, to be a part of what we are striving to do here at 104.9.
Our many different departments are staffed by volunteer workers too...actually at this point they are very much UNDERSTAFFED! So here is an opportunity for you to CONNECT.
VACANCIES!!!
We currently have a number of vacancies both in the Station and Ontrack Book shop. Its possible these might give you the opportunity you have been looking for. We are looking for people who can commit either for a 6 month weekly shift/contract (Ontrack, Admin,On-Air and Scheduling, marketing and production)or those who would like to be involved in a short term project (Quarterly newsletter,Research & Surveys, Writing up a grant) for a small chunk of time.
Below is our current organisational chart. Only a few positions are actually filled.Ceo- Belinda Tilley, Senior Scheduler - Leslie Williams, Music Director - Deanne Turner, Music Scheduler - Lorraine Frost, Senior Announcer - starting soon, Bookkeeper - Yvonne Douglas, Ontrack Stock and Floor Manager - Bronwyn Sims, len Stidwell -Sales Assistant. Plus we have a small team of announcers - Belinda Tilley, Alister Armstrong, Bronwyn Sims, Dee, and Sally. There are 5 or 6 new announcers currently being trained but plenty of room for more.
Our board has 12 positions with only 7 positions filled.Chairman- Henk Bruins, Vice Chairman -Wayne Kerber, Treasurer - Alister Armstrong, Secretary - Rob Berlin, General members - Ernest Ralton, Peter Whiting, John Wright. In Reality we have 16 positions fill out of a possible 70!!!
A small team is currently carrying a very big load - come on and give us a hand, its a lot of fun.

Shop floor volunteers
Station based: assistant positions- 3 hours shifts ( pref 2 per week). Commitment - 6 months minimum
ROLE: Serving as a retail shop assistant in Ontrack
Must be basicallycomputer literate and willing to learn new software. Good people skills. Knowledge and interest in books and music an advantage. Basic training offered. Shifts are from 9am -12pm, 12pm-3pm, 2pm -5pm.

SUMMARY: Suits dynamic well presented person. Sales/people skills an advantage.

Station based: Shifts - pref 2 x 6 hours each week. Commitment - 12 months minimum
ROLE: Working directly with Senior Scheduler to oversee all aspects of program/conent scheduling.
Must be highly computer literate and willing to learn new software. Methodical and able to work to deadlines . This is a position carrying alot of responsibility working with in the studios and with broadcast equipment.
This is a -Volunteer Position
SUMMARY: Suits quieter person able to work independently. Enjoys technology.
1/6/09 URGENTLY WANTED
ADMIN/RECEPTION
FIVE PEOPLE TO GIVE 5 HOURS a WEEK
Station based: administrative/clerical work - 5 hours shifts . Commitment - 6 months minimum
ROLE: Serving as SECB receptionist/clerk to undertake a variety of admin tasks. Some marketing related, reseach and phone surveys and announcer support.
Must be computer literate. Good people and phone skills. Able to work unsupervised. Basic training offered. Shifts are from 9am -2pm.
These are volunteer positions
SUMMARY: Suits methodical person with good public/communication skills. Other office skills databases etc an advantage
Do you have good people skills and a reasonable understanding of computers, an interest in news and community AND would be willing to give 5 hours per week of time to answering phones and helping out with admin and production research?
If you do then 104.9 has room for you. We looking for Five people to give 5 hours a week to basic reception and computer work.

Rhemafmlive Production Manager
Station based: Managerial position - 10 hours flexi-time. Commitment - 24 months minimum
ROLE: Working directly with CEO to oversee all aspects of station production.
Must be highly computer literate and willing to learn new software. Methodical and able to work to deadlines . This is a position carrying alot of responsibility and inolves managing staff, working to policy and procedure guidelines and oversight of staff, studios and broadcast equipment, as well as program content.
This is a -Volunteer Position

Applications are now being for Drivetime 5-7pm and Night life 7-9pm as well as a midday slot.
You want something that fullfils you and allows you lots of room for fun and family why not have a go. Must be highly computer literate and willing to learn new software. Methodical and able to work to deadlines . This is a position carrying alot of responsibility and inolves public and supplier interaction, and oversight of a variety of marketing media. Creativity and understanding of stategic marketing an advantage

URGENTLY WANTED: DATA BASE OFFICER
Station based: Office position - 6 hrs per week. Commitment -

ROLE: Part time position. Working directly with CEO to assist set up and maintain station databases
This is a -Volunteer Position .
SUMMARY: Suits organised Computer Literate person. Some marketing, direct mail/web site and/or newsletter experience an asset but not necc. Able tow ork alone.
URGENTLY WANTED:Community Liaison position offered
Office & Community Based: (could be done from home)
Approx. 1-2 3hr shifts per week
Commitment 12 months minimum
ROLE: Part time position. Working directly CEO & on air announcers to obtain and manage live to air community announcements.

SUMMARY: Requires good computer skills and good telephone manner.
Database skill helpful.
Other voluntary assistant positions are also available in all departments.

Home based: Work from home - Mainly Internet/email based work
commitment 12 months minimum
ROLE: Working directly to update and manage the website with stories, information on Christian issues, local districts issues events etc PLus Produce quarterly newsletter ad some direct mail and other marketing materials
This is a -Volunteer Position
SUMMARY: Requires good computer skills, some web/ mail publishing experience preferred and must have Internet access.
Good writing skills an asset and creative flair but time and interest most important.

Production Assistants
Home based:Work from home - Phone in your reports
commitment 12 months minimum
ROLE: Part time position. Working directly with On air announcers to supply live reports and information on church events local districts issues and events in all new areas: Robe Bordertown, Hamilton, Naracoorte etc
This is a -Volunteer Position
SUMMARY: Requires good speaking presentation skills and Internet access.
Good writing skills an asset, but time and interest most important.
Will be trained.
